Some Interesting arguments against the Internet tax bill.

Ok...so I was doing my daily scan on the I Internet, looking for any recent developments on where the issue stands legislatively. And apparently it is now in the hands of the House of Representatives. It is expected to stall there, but that does not mean the fight is over by any means. We MUST contact our house or representatives to make sure our voices are heard!

Here is a rather interesting article I ran across today... http://smallbiztrends.com/2013/05/internet-sales-tax-bill-stall.html
When you have a few minutes, you should really read this. It is a good informative and unbiased article that basically weighs the pros and cons, but again....from where I'm sitting the cons would far outweigh the pros. But...that is just MY opinion on the subject. Give this a read and make up your own mind, but I think...you may be inclined to agree, that...though big business may stand to support this due to their ability to monetarily compensate...it is people like me, and the small business owners out there that stand to really lose in this deal.

Here is another article I found that pretty much proves my point:

These are very valid and well thought out reports of the potential for disaster with this bill. So please if you sell ANYTHING on line, if you are like me....someone who makes their living...however small it may be, off the Internet...then you should be as scared as I am about having this bill pass. Please contact your house or representatives, make them see how detrimental this is for the small Internet business community now...before it is too late.

You can also help by sending us a donation to support this cause. Every penny donated goes to fund the "keeping the Net Free" movement. Which is dedicated to protecting the rights of Internet users around the world! Please help us today with this very serious issue. Call your representative today, let them know how you feel...make even a small donation....even $00.25 helps. Whatever you can spare, because just like taxes...it all adds up...a little bit here, a little there, and before you know it, we have reached our goal of having the bill thrown out!

For those of you who may not know....

I figured I would let you know a bit about who I am, and why I have taken up this cause so diligently. I am a 37 year old graphic artist who owns the business Falconvale Designs. And I have decided to utilize my company for a dual purpose....one which is the obvious...to provide graphic art and design to the Internet community, but the second purpose is to use the businesses graphic design skills to help promote this very worthy cause you see here. You see...if they are allowed to tax the Internet...I, along with countless thousands of other people who work online, will be forced to close down their businesses, because they simply will not be able to comply with over 9 THOUSAND tax regulations from as many countries. See...the problem with taxing the Internet...is it is on a global scale, which means we would not only have to comply with OUR countries overly inflated taxes, but...all of the other countries as well. I don't know about you folks...but I just do not have the brain power to be able to keep track of over 9 thousand different tax regulations. And I certainly can't afford to have an accountant do it for me right now. My business is still fairly new, and I currently do not have the resources for such an expense.

Now I'm sure there are plenty of people out there in the same boat I am in....and don't think that just because you do not use the Internet for business that this issue won't effect you...you see....they are planning to not only tax the sales aspect of the Internet (which...if it were going to be a simple tax to only make us accountable for United States sales tax, then I wouldn't be complaining so much about that aspect) but they are now talking about taxing it like they do with cell phone usage! To make you pay by the minute for your Internet time!

Honestly, that would likely kill not just the small business, but most of the high end ones as well. Think about the thousands of employees glued to the web that work for Facebook...google...e-bay....how much do you think that will cost them?

Right now...it's convenient to buy online, because to do so...more often than not is cheaper in the long run than having to drive to a brick and mortar store, shell out for gas money...and of course you have the overhead in any store like that....when you can simply buy online and wait a couple days for delivery, for a fraction of what it would cost you anywhere else...but...if the government has it's way...it will end up costing a LOT more to do it this way...and think about this for a minute...do you know how much business delivery services make from Internet sales in shipping? A boat load! But if people suddenly stop buying off line...because the Internet stores have had to dramatically increase their prices to compensate for the increase in taxes...the postal services will go under....then how would anyone get their mail? The postal services rely heavily on Internet sales to keep their business going.

And another thing to consider for all you gamers out there...you like playing multiplayer games? Sure ya do....that's pretty much the whole fun of gaming in the first place....right? The competitive rush...well...when you have to pay per minute of game time...just how fun do you think that will be when you get your Internet bill after a late night of world of Warcraft competitions?

Oh...and if you love to chat on line....or hang out in chat rooms...do a little cam to cam action...think about THIS for a minute....while you are paying little miss huge boobs to get frisky on her cam, you will not only be paying HER by the minute...but Uncle Sam too!

And oh yea...guess what! Another little thing you didn't think of.....once a government is allowed to tax something...that then gives them the right to monitor that taxable product....that's right...so while you're rubbing one out on cam and getting off to little miss huge boobs, big brother will be watching you too! You really want them knowing your most private moments?

Honestly, there are a million reasons to support this cause! So tell your friends, get them involved, help stop the government from controlling the Internet. Keep our privacy intact, protect the future of Internet business and commerce, and allow the people to continue to be entertained without the worry of how many minutes they have been online!

KEEP THE INTERNET FREE!!!!

How many of you buy stuff online?

If  you're like me, you probably purchase a lot of stuff from various online stores like e-bay, New Egg, Tiger Direct, just to name a few of the leading Internet products suppliers out there. Well...it has been brought to our attention that the government intends to enact an Internet tax, so that any products bought or sold online will now have a sales tax...but...this concept goes against the whole principle of the Internet.

When the Internet was first created...(yes...I can remember back that far) it was intended to be free. A place where people could freely share ideas and knowledge without government interference. And what has slowly been happening to it, is the very same thing that has happened to television...it has become controlled by the very entity in which it was intended to exclude!

If you are anything like me, and probably countless other folks who rely on the Internet to not only provide a reliable income, but for information, and knowledge...this should outrage you. Even if you do not use the Internet to make an income of any kind...if you are known to purchase anything, even something as small as an app purchase...you may have already noticed when it comes time to look at your bill...they now TAX this stuff! A $1.99 purchase ends up being a $2.13 purchase instead (after TAXES!). they have not even passed the law in to effect yet, and the companies are already charging the taxes (my guess is in preparation for when it IS passed in to law) but really.....isn't this kind of jumping the gun a little guys?

Sure...you can justify this by saying something like..."it's only a few cents extra...what difference does it make?" The truth is it makes a world of difference when (like me...and probably a lot of other folks) you buy a lot of products from the Internet. A couple cents here...couple cents there...this was NOT supposed to happen folks. HECK!...they weren't even supposed to charge for Internet service...but now you see...that is a multi-billion dollar market now! Blue Light was one of the major free internet service providers back then, even AOL had a free service package. But....not any more.

I remember when you could simply pick up any number of free Internet service providers CD packages at Walmart or any other leading department store...slip it in your computer, install...and presto! You get the above image on your computer screen...Instant access to the Internet...no payment plans, no contracts...no bills, just simple free Internet. But now...that isn't even a possibility.

This blog is a project I have decided to set up to help fund a cause...to keep the Internet FREE! (Well...as free as it can be in this day and age anyway) don't get me wrong...I am not so delusional that I think I would be able to get the major Internet service providers to bow out now that they are already making millions...but...I CAN try to stop legislatures from being able to pass laws that allow them to dig even further into our wallets...so...if you agree with me...if you agree that we need to prevent government from being able to control the Internet like this... and subsequently be able to take even MORE money out of our paychecks every week, then please help by donating to the cause. Even small donations will make a huge difference in our ability to help stop the greedy politicians from trying to tax us to death. Let's face it...the LAST thing this economy needs is yet another tax in this already taxed to death world.
